Canon Personality:

─ First impressions would paint Mydeimos in a poor light, giving the impressions of a stand offish man who cares only for the thrill of battle. Some might even go so far as to call him a beast. And while yes he is capable of terrible amounts of violence, so much so that even the monsters within the Sea of Souls stopped coming near him, Mydei is by no means a violent person. He will fight, he will cause harm, and he will kill─whenever it is necessary to do so. It is important to note that ever since he was thrown into the Sea of Souls as an infant and as such had quite literally no human contact for a very long time. Naturally that resulted in a man that struggled with human interaction and would leave poor impressions on others.

─ It is also important to note that Mydei, despite his strength and violence in battle, is an instinctually benevolent person. Should he encounter in need of aid he will provide it without any want of reward. One of character stories describe him doing just that, saving a drowning fisherman despite effectively (due to his time in the Sea of Souls) being feral at that point in time. The gentleness is even further proved when you find a memory in Castrum Kremnos of an unknown person asking Mydei what his dream is, with the only acceptable options being different combat roles. The young Mydei answers instead that he doesn't want to be a soldier and bring harm to others, but instead wants to wander the lands or even become a beam of light. Perhaps the biggest proof of Mydei's inert gentleness is that, despite revering his people's god for what Nikador was supposed to be and it but being his ultimate fate, he had no desire to become Strife.

─ Though some would describe him as reckless and battle crazed, Mydei is actually quite level headed. He only ever tends to exhibit aggression when he is threatened first. He is keenly aware of the people around him, he sought to remove Phainon and the Trailblazer from the confrontation with Nikador as to ensure that they did not come any harm. Even inside the coreflame trial, while the power of Strife was driving Phainon mad, Mydei was still level-headed enough to rally the Trailblazer and Dan Heng and get Phainon out safe. Mydei was still rational enough to even recognize the Okhemans inside the illusion and say "This isn't who these people really are; they're being twisted by Nikador." His recklessness never purposefully effects other people, but instead only affects Mydei himself. More to risk his own life, rather than the lives of others.

─ He is intelligent as well, being painfully aware of his own reputation and how people view him, often using it to his own advantage. An example of this is during a confrontation Mydei has with the Verax Leos that had been spreading rumors. He is very aware of his reputation as a beast, the fact Verax Leos are cowardly by nature, and knows for a fact that it is afraid of him. With these facts he is able to tailor his actions to the level of response that is appropriate for a given situation. Using the threat of violence to silence Verax Leos' rumor-mongering with his words rather than his fists. Mydei is also self-aware enough to know that same crude reputation is a powerful tool. It benefits him for certain groups to be very afraid of him, and this leads to an interesting conflict in the character: On the one hand, Mydei wants to distance himself from Kremnos's violence. He renames himself, swears allegiance to Aglaea's cause of hope, and spends his free time in Okhema doing gentle things like taking part in cooking competitions, playing house with kids, and judging drama festivals.

─ He is a lot sillier and down to earth than people would expect, though that side of him is often overshadowed by the threatening reputation he can do little to avoid. He is kind and giving and is only capable of such things because for once he has been afforded period of peace where he was safe enough to act childish. To engage in competitions devoid of violence, to allow himself to follow in Phainon's schemes over and over again because he finds them fun. Mydei's life has been criminally devoid of light-hearted joys and normalcy, and being led into trouble that doesn't result in people literally dying on him─harmless trouble─is an extreme novelty for him. However it is important to note that he isn't going to propose the Jackass competition, but he is going to fold like paper the moment said competition is suggested.

AU History:

─ Mydei is the only child of Gorgo, a headstrong and cunning woman living Sparta, Laconia. His childhood was a simple one, his mother making certain he was want for nothing as he grew. Not once in his early life that he think his lack of a father was odd, and his mother was certain to assure him that his life was no worse off for not having the man in it. Her assurances resulted in a young Mydei having no interest in the man who was responsible, in part, for his birth.

─ His youth was mostly uneventful, he had his mother and his friends and that is all he needed. Everything would get turned on it's head one afternoon in the middle of summer when he, at the age of 8, and his friends were cooling off by the Evrotas River. One moment they were messing around, the next Mydei watched as Perdikkas fell into the river and was washed away. Everything fell into chaos after that, the rest of his friend panicking as Mydei himself lept into the river after Perdikkas. It as not the smartest course of action as Mydei had very little skill is swimming myself, but he could think of nothing but saving his friend. Through adrenaline and an amazing amount of luck Mydei was able to get Perdikkas back to shore, only for a cramp stopping him from saving himself.

─ His friends watched in horror as, for the second time that day, one of their own was swept up by the river's waters. Only this time no one dove in after him and they watched, helpless, as Mydei was dragged under. He doesn't remember much of what happened after that, only that his limbs felt heavy, his lungs burnt, but after that? Nothing. just darkness until the sound of his mother crying brought him back to the land of the living. Unbeknownst to him something found him in those moments before death claimed him, drawn in by the cries of a desperate child who didn't want to die, changing him and giving him the strength he needed to break free of the river's grasp.

─ For days Mydei was forced to rest and recover from his harrowing experience, though he found little enjoyment in being confined to his bed. During that time he would begin reading subjects he had little interest in before now; battle strategies, history, studies on cultures and long dead languages. He had little else he could do, else his mother physically tie the bed, so he read. It was while reading that Mydei would hear a voice, a distant and faint voice who only asked one question; "Do you remember the oath you swore?" Yes, yes he remembered. He swore an oat to grow strong, to walk forward even if it meant to go against the flow. He swore to "never retreat or back down. No matter the hardship, he would always keep moving forward."

─ The rest of Mydei's youth was spent fulfilling that oath to the best of his abilities. He would train with his mother, Gorgo, who proved herself to be a warrior just as good, if not better, than the Spartans of old. He continued to sharpen his mind through knowledge found in books and the world around him, as well as taking up a hobby of baking. What was supposed to be a simple hobby, thanks to the oath he swore all those years ago, became something Mydei engaged in fiercely. His hometown often treated with the many varieties of baked goods and so on he found himself cooking. He quickly grew incredibly popular for it and with a fair amount of needling from both his mother and his dearest friends, Mydei made himself a social media (un: purritobakes) dedicated purely to his cooking hobby, and the myriad of cats he often encountered.

─ He would have fairly content with his life as is, but fate is never so kind. Not long before his 22nd birthday Mydei learned his mother had been putting together a scheme, a trap to ensnare the man who was responsible for his existence. She would ring him dry for all he was worth and ensure that her son is wont for nothing, else word of the man's infidelity and subsequence abandonment of his own flesh and blood were to get out and stain his reputation. Thus did Mydei discover not only the name of his so-called father, but the name of his half-brother; Gilgamesh. It was only then, after years and years of silence, that he heard the same voice from so long ago; "We must go there, we must meet him."

AU Personality Differences: The biggest difference between Mydei in this life than the last is that he was raised by his mother rather than having to fight for his life ever since he was an infant. This has allowed him to be more outwardly softer than his original self, allows him to interact with people without the awkwardness or the pressure of being the crown prince of Kremnos.

Possession: Mydei was possessed by the spirit of Enkidu, who upon hearing the cries of a child in distressed sought to save him from the river. His price is simple; to walk forward confidently no matter what. To fight with everything he has in everything he does, be it something simple in his day to do day or be it literal combat both friendly and deadly. "Never retreat, never back down. No matter the hardship, keep moving forward."
